Premonition or Precognition

Premonition and precognition are two words people often mistakenly interchange. Premonition is a sense of something about to happen; anticipation of circumstances arising in the future without reason for thinking so. Premonition is a feeling which can and often does prove to be wrong. Precognition is knowing certain things will come to pass. This knowledge is the result of having seen circumstances played out or having lived through the exact situation before in some other dimension. The memory imprinted on the subconscious rises when the lesson is needed, like opening a jar or the impulse to stop at a green light as a car out of nowhere speeds through the red light. Precognition is what we consider prophecy. The precognitive is able to give precise details. Premonition depends heavily on synchronicity to come true or not. Basically, this is the difference between a true psychic and a storefront fortuneteller.
